Every second Sunday of the month from 1 - 4, local farmers bring their products to the Magnolia Farmers Market which is held at the junction of FM 1774 and FM 1448 (about 20 minutes from Tomball and Cypress). This is a new farmers market and there aren't lots of vendors. Luckily Blue Heron Farm (http://www.blueherontexas.com/) attended to sell a variety of goat cheese and feta.
Unfortunately, I'm not the only fan of this local farm. 45 minutes into the market the only cheese left was a goat cheese with cilantro and jalapeno peppers and a sweet goat cheese with apricots. I chose the cilantro and pepper cheese and was happy I did once I got home and tried it. It's delicious.
I bought 24 eggs at Saturday's Montgomery Farmers Market and did not buy any from Dragon Weyr Farms (http://www.dragonweyrfarms.com/, the website doesn't give much information). However, since they are located right in Magnolia, I took their card so that I could buy from them later.
Evans Veggie Farm also attended (http://www.evansveggiefarm.com/). I had purchased some eggplant from them at the Home Sweet Farm Market Days with which I was really pleased. I bought a bunch of basil for $1, homemade salsa for $5, 4 large banana peppers for $2 and some broccoli rabe seedlings for $2. When visiting the Brushy Creek Farm booth, sellers of goat milk soap which smell wonderful, (http://www.brushy-creek-farm.com/), one of the ladies suggested I fill the peppers with cheese and bake them. Seemed like a fantastic idea so for dinner my family ate banana peppers filled with goat cheese, along with beans and rice seasoned with lots of things, including the the basil and salsa.
